The Caronna Family

I photographed the Caronna Family this past weekend at the Dallas Arboretum. This was their first time at the gardens, and they came in time for the early setup of Summer at the Arboretum.

Their 3-month-old Jack lay in the grass while being entertained by mom and dad:

Maggie kept collecting rocks and dumping them out with a wicker basket:

We placed Jack in bucket and took a few photos before he got too comfortable!:

Muireann held onto mom’s hand as they made their way towards the fountain frogs:

Though, this meant she had to play with the water as well:

When it came for the sisters to play together, there was some friendly rivalry:

I definitely enjoyed being there for the Caronna’s first Dallas Arboretum experience, and look forward to working with them next time as well!

Vanessa and Matt Patchen's Wedding

Last weekend we had the pleasure to photograph Matt and Vanessa's wedding! The pair was blessed with a beautiful afternoon and evening for their outdoor wedding and reception. It's always hard to choose my favorite images after weddings, and Matt and Vanessa were no exception! What follows are some of my favorite images of their day.

When we arrived at the Prince Victorian Estate in Fort Worth, the girls were upstairs getting ready. Vanessa's dress hangs on the shuttered doors:

While the women donned makeup and dresses, the men enjoyed the spring day outside on the patio, and made some last minute adjustments to their outfits:

Inside, one of the flower girls waits on the steps:

With the help of a few bridesmaids, Vanessa put her dress on, then came out into the bedroom for the rest of the girls to see:

A bridesmaid laughs as Vanessa admires herself in the bureau mirror:

Finally it was go time! This photo of Vanessa exiting the house to go meet her future husband under the gazebo is one of my favorites:

Once outside, the two meet at the altar, and Matt gives Vanessa an adoring look:

Before long, it was time for the rings! Here Vanessa places Matt's wedding band on his finger:

After the ceremony, the bridesmaids combined their bouquets with Vanessa's to compare the lovely flowers. Vanessa and Matt chose this light blue as their color, and it can be seen all throughout their wedding and reception:

The bridal party makes their way to take some pictures on the estate grounds:

The bridal party:

Matt and his groomsmen were very proud of their awesome socks. Matt's said "groom," and the others said "groomsman."

After some photos, the party made their way to the reception tent:

Here is their grand entrance as Mr. and Mrs. Patchen!:

As mentioned above, Vanessa and Matt had several blue details for their day. Here is a montage of some of those details:

The happy couple cuts their cake as the DJ's lights flash on the tent ceiling:

Outdoor photography is always fun because the weather can surprise you and always gives you something new to work with. On this evening, the sky was beautiful and clear after the sun went down. Here you can see a few stars twinkling above the tent:

The couple clinks their glasses after touching toasts by the best man and maid of honor:

After some dancing, the DJ announced that it was time for the bouquet toss. Many women quickly came onto the dance floor to try their luck, and Vanessa let the flowers fly:

As the night begins to close, Vanessa busts a move on the dance floor:

Finally it was time to bid the couple goodbye. They ran out into their getaway car, a decorated truck, and smiled for one last photo before heading out for the night:

We had a wonderful time celebrating Matt and Vanessa's wedding, and wish them a happy life together!

The Wright Family

You may recognize the Wright Family, as I recently blogged about their dog Sam. We visited the Dallas Arboretum on the last day of Dallas Blooms, the largest floral festival in the south, so that provided plenty of backdrops!

Their one-year-old, Emory, stood by himself for the longest time to-date!

Kecia and Blake lay on the grass as Emory turns on his side to play with mom.

The Wrights stroll through Azalea bushes.

Emory laughs while sitting in front of some white tulips.

There were nearby Hydrangeas blooming, and Emory couldn't stop picking them!

The photoshoot was seamless and fun, and I look forward to working with them next time!

Lauren and Keegan's Engagements

Hello to the blogging world! I owe you some updates. Over the next few days, expect to see the Wright family as well as Vanessa and Matt's wedding. This evening's post, however, depicts Lauren and Keegan's engagement shoot. This shoot was a fun challenge for me, as they are certainly a tall couple! I think we got many great shots of their wonderful chemistry, and I look forward to photographing them together again at their wedding in October!

We met up in Grapevine, where Lauren works, and started along Main Street, where I saw this stairwell against a yellow wall:

A block down, we came across these "ladies" and "gentlemen" signs and used them for our own purposes:

Lauren covers Keegan's eyes, as he jokes, "what, like I don't know who it is?":

The two share a kiss as Lauren shows her ring off to the camera:

Lauren was a bit nervous in front of the camera, so Keegan teased her quite a bit to help her loosen up. Here the couple shares a sunkissed hug:

After walking up and down the main drag, we did a quick outfit change and went to the Grapevine Botanical Garden. Keegan tucks a flower behind Lauren's ear:

Here the two practice their model faces for the camera:

We had a wonderful time helping Lauren and Keegan celebrate their engagement with photos! As mentioned, keep an eye out for more posts in a day or two!

Sam

I’ve been commissioned to photograph The Wright’s this coming weekend, but was contacted about photographing their terminally ill Labrador, Sam, prior to the shoot. Saturday’s shoot revolved around The Wright’s beloved dog, and we spent a portion of the day in a few different settings.

Kecia spends a moment with Sam in the upstairs common area of her home.

Sam relaxes a bit on the couch, after taking a break from being squeezed in-between his loving family.

We trotted to a nearby field, and Sam appeared to be amused by the smallest of insects!

Sam felt adventurous and got a little dirty while we were out, so it prompted a wash when we got back.

I think this last image helps reinforce how beautiful Sam’s fur can be.

The photoshoot made it definitely fun to work with a dog! The intermittent licking of family members to their 1-year-old boy, Emory, running his hands through Sam’s fur, I couldn’t ask for more. I was more than grateful to work with the Wrights on an opportunity like this.
