Don and Trang's Engagements

Don and Trang found me through WeddingWire, and met with me a couple of times before bringing me on board. They knew what they wanted in terms of photography, and also provided some room for direction from me as well -- my kind of clientele.

We started at the Dallas Arboretum, then moved to White Rock Lake, Deep Ellum, and finally finished in Downtown Dallas. Here are some that I want to show from their session:

I wanted to make use of Dale Chihuly's glasswork, but also didn't want to over power the couple:

A simple arch makes for a clean image:

The pumpkin patch features houses and a carriage that guests can visit as well:

We made our way to White Rock Lake, and stopped at a small area near Lawther and Poppy. They brought along some balloons, too:

At the end of a pier:

A ring detail amidst some balloons:

When we arrived to Deep Ellum, it had started to rain, they were good-spirited about it, and rescheduled with me to continue the session. We resumed at Daniel Munoz's "Tonatiuh" mural, which means "sun god."

Then moved to The Traveling Man, as per their suggestion. Here, I lit them with a tripod-mounted flash for some fill lighting:

We headed in the direction of the Latino Cultural Center off Live Oak, and stopped along the way:

With the sun going down, I wanted to get a few more flash-filled photos:

The architectural installations allowed for some framing:

Some shadow work:

A pose they wanted to try:

On our way back, I had them do some dipping:

We last stopped at the JFK Memorial Plaza to round off this session:

Don, Trang, thanks so much for working with me, I look forward to April!

Aerial and Micah's Wedding - Dallas Arboretum

My apologies, I know I'm behind on my blog posts. I wanted to show you guys a recent wedding we shot at the Dallas Arboretum, featuring Aerial and Micah. You may recognize them from their engagements I did earlier this year.

They started their day at the Doubletree in Dallas, where both parties got ready in adjacent rooms, but Aerial and Micah couldn't see each other. When you meet them, they have humble, earnest, and really great personalities -- so they are definitely a match meant for each other. Here are some images throughout their beautiful wedding:

Rochelle and I started with the details:

Then moved onto Micah and Aerial, while they were getting ready:

Soon, the limo arrived for the first group, the guys, and I went with them on the way to the arboretum while Rochelle stayed with the girls to get some group photos:

Shortly enough, the girls were on their way to the arboretum, where I took their group photos:

And some of Aerial:

As time draws closer to the start of the ceremony, I ride with Aerial and her grandfather in a golf cart en route to the ceremony:

Guests were seated, the wedding party filtered in as designated:

Aerial and her grandfather come in last, and I make this last shot before running to the front of the aisle to get Micah's reaction:

With everyone assembled, the ceremony starts!:

A couple of environmental shots:

And then the ring exchange:

Kiss:

Jumping the "broom" to seal the deal:

We transition into the evening reception with just a short walk:

Into the first dance:

Speeches were made before and after the cake-cutting ceremonies:

Dancing, lots of dancing, which filled in the remainder of the night:

But not before a break for the bouquet and garter toss:

The night continues:

Before the end of the night, I wanted to get one last portrait of Aerial and Micah, as a married couple:
Aerial, Micah, and everyone involved, thank you guys so much for making this beautiful wedding a blast to photograph. We're glad we could be there, and only wish you guys the best in your lives.
